In-Game Brighter Colors
« on: August 04, 2010, 11:22:35 PM »
Hi,
Just thought I would make a suggestion about this becaus the current way in which the option is activated is not particaluarly user-friendly.
I suggest that you save the state of the Show brighter colors option and load it during the engine start or have it as part of the settings dialog on launch as the current way of setting it in game does not remember the setting during sessions.
Best Regards,
Andrew Robinson.

Ah, thanks for the heads-up, I'll have it remember the setting in the next update like the other settings.

Hi Jak,

This setting is still not being saved and restored properly as of 1.0g.

I am happy to try and help reproduce the problem if need be, or provide any logs if any are created.
Best Regards,
Andrew Robinson.

Can you please send me your output_log.txt file?  I went through and tested the setting to make sure it was being saved in this update.  Also, can you tell me if other things like the girl choice and clothing choice are being saved for you between sessions?

Hi,

I have attached the log file.

I deleted the log file, and started the game.

Went to options and enabled the color option, then closed.

I will load the game again, and check the setting and then upload the log file from that in the next post.

Hi,

Quick new post.

Check it again, and the setting is not being saved, or it is being saved, but the status of the setting is being ignored at engine init.

Log file is attached.

Can you tell me if other things like the girl choice and clothing choice are being saved for you between sessions?  Based on your output log it doesn't appear to be so, but if you can verify that for me that would be great.  Just choose two different girls with different outfits, go into the sim, then exit.  When you start back up again, are the girls and outfits you picked still picked or does it default back to Robyn and Layla?

Hi,

Sorry it has taken a while to respond, the forum doesn't seem to be sending me reply notifications when it is set to do so.

Anyways, I am doing a re-install of Windows now, so I will let you know the answer to that question ASAP.
Best Regards,
Andrew Robinson.

Hi Jak,

Quick Update. I have tested the characters, and they appear to be saved between sessions, as I picked Alison and Kendra, started a sim, then closed.

They were still selected on starting the sim again.
Best Regards,
Andrew Robinson.

I'm going to try to get a fix for it into the next update.  Even on my own system, when I turn it on and off, sometimes it saves, and sometimes it doesn't.  I fixed it in the last update but I must have broken it again right before releasing it.

In the mean time, try downloading and running these patches I just made.  They set the brighter colors to stay on or off.

To turn them on: http://www.sexsim.com/files/special/sexsim_bright-colors-fix.exe
To turn them off: http://www.sexsim.com/files/special/sexsim_bright-colors-off.exe

I'll have a real fix in the next update but for now this should work for anyone having this problem.

Hi Jak.

I have just also noticed, that when using the 1.0g standard distrobution, none of the settings from the options dialog in game are actually saved between sessions, or at least they are not reloaded.

If I can provide any assistance in helping fix this, please let me know.
Best Regards,
Andrew Robinson.
