Hi

Has anyone thought of doing doing some 50's style clothes for female characters ??

I think that would be a great idea.

Unfortunately, as there wasn't that much around then as skimpy as the wireframes & UVMaps we currently have, as yet you wouldn't be able to get very far with it.

Also hairstyles would need attention too.

As I said though, I do like the idea.

The fifties flary skirts were typically just above knee length.

Mini skirts, like the UVMap/mesh we have didn't get invented until the 60s.

I hope Jak is able to address (  ;D ) that clothing issue at some point.  ;)

I agree. I would love to see a mesh for dresses, skirts, and yes even full length gowns.  ^-^

Casual & formal wear too. High neck tops & full length trousers ( pants )

Once we have the meshes & UVmaps the community can assist with texturing.  ;)

It's not exactly what you're looking for but 50s and 60s swimwear is definitely possible with the meshes we've got.  I'd have done some myself already but I'm definitely not an artist when it comes to Gimp.
