Mix & Match Clothing
« on: March 21, 2012, 09:01:52 AM »
This is just an idea, and I'm not sure how difficult it would be to implement given that each outfit is described by a single XML file, but would it be possible to choose tops and bottoms separately?  Out of all the girls I've been with, only one ever bothered to match her bra and panties outside of special occasions.  I'm not sure if this is typical but if it is it would certainly increase realism.

I'll take a look and see if it's something that can be done without too much trouble.

Would be good to have it eventually, even if it isn't the sort of simple thing than can be done sooner.

Yes, that was a thing I enquired about when I was discussing clothing layers.

I do think it would be a good idea.

I think it would be possible to either fuse the Xml code to do that or(and this would be the pain in the sack) go through and make a bunch of mixed sets via cloning and renaming items. It would take up a lot of space and could cause conflicts but that might be a way to go. Doing it that way would increase the folder size by a good 6 fold when considering the thumbs, xml files and the texture files. If you want I can try to make a few mixed sets(they would be mixed and renamed) and see how that goes.

When I get in to work on it I'll add some things to the XML files and the interface that should allow mixing and matching, but for now you can of course go in and do the "cloning" thing like TempestKilday points out, as that's a method that will work with the current version of the sim.

This is a reply to ikilledpaulalan  if outfits can be mixed and matched, this is how my suggestion would work out, and maybe it will give ideas as to how it can be done smoother in the future and not have to be an outfit specifically named or fixed in what articles can be used.
This outfit in particular is a mix of Blue Hawaiian and Casual blue.
