I always appreciate suggestions for improving the interface, so thanks for posting this.

I'd like to know what it is about that layout that you think would improve upon what's already there, besides just being something different.

I thought the icons on the side to the vertical would be more enjoyable than seeing them toward the center of the window because it obscures the scene that we see.

Ah, ok yes now I see what you mean.  I'll keep it in mind for a possible options setting in the future.
