What kind of hair styles do you want?

I think variety is the key here.

It is easy to overdo the more extreme,  usually punk inspired short styles.

I like the pony tail idea & longer styles.

Once we get some suitable clothing, I would quite like to investigate the more retro styles.
Perhaps the 60's Beehive or even the 40's & 50's film star styles.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts on hair styles; these are all great suggestions.

Just a note on ponytails; I've been wanting to get some in for a long time now but they are different than other hair styles in that the tails have to actually react when the girl is in motion, leaning over, etc.  They need to flop around with her motions which requires using a physics solution in the sim.  I don't have one of those implemented yet (it's on the to-do list!) which is why there are no pony tails yet.  Once I get something like that in then that will open the door for a much greater variety of hair styles, including braids, dreads, etc.

I keep meaning to build up a post with piccies of several different hairstyles that should be technically possible right now, but I never seem to remember to watch out for the picture while I'm on t'intarwebs.

French braid ponytail in back, front messy with a couple wild locks/strands/bangs over the face.  Think Lara Croft.

I agree with everyone that's said ponytails and pigtails.

My other suggestions:
-Being able to edit a particular hairstyle's length. In other words a "long, straight" hairstyle could be made to be just past the shoulders are all the way down past the butt.
-Being able to "mix and match" hairstyles. Like, being able to add a small braid to an existing hairstyle or being able to add bangs, etc. to an existing hairstyle.
My thinking on these first 2 suggestions is that it could save you time 'cuz you wouldnt necessarily need to create so many new hairstyles and people could play around with existing ones and create what they want. Could maybe just be added as an option into the HairStyler add-on?

-Headbands, hairclips, etc.
-African hairstyles e.g. afros, dreads, etc.

I could probably think of more if I sat here long enough, but the fiance is gonna be done with work soon and I need to go do some cooking. Keep up the great work Jak!

Still pretty keen on the idea of a very neat bob, I know Danielle and Katt came with varieties of this but something almost artifical-looking both looks gorgeous and would fit the rigidness of the hairstyles in the Sim too, along the lines of Olivia Wilde in Tron, or like this:

yes i know only the top one is actually pigtails.  I didn't read it before I hit submit.  Here are a few more styles. OK maybe more than a few.. I do like long wavy hair. (Led Zeppelin said my girl has long, black, wavy hair)

Oh Hey Jak,  I know this is about hair styles, but I have to mention glasses for all hair styles.  If there was an option to put glasses on the girls no matter the hair style, that would be awesome.  All the girls cant have the secretary  look if you know what I mean.  Example above with the Velma hair style.
